calmbirth® practitioners are trained to teach the calmbirth® childbirth education classes to individual and small groups of pregnant women and their partners or birthing companions.

calmbirth® practitioners are teachers of a skill. Their main role is to assist pregnant couples attending their classes create an inner space in which ideas and suggestions for change and healing can take place.

calmbirth® practitioners
  • Believe primarily in the natural process of childbirth
  • Challenge the existing culture that promotes birth as a necessarily stressful experience
  • Make available to the pregnant couples, information and skills which make it possible to achieve a fear - free birth naturally, calmly and with joy
  • Believe when necessary, intervention during labour and childbirth, may be needed

It is essential that prospective practitioners be open to learn new ways, willing to work in a unique team, share knowledge and are, most importantly, interested in helping pregnant couples increase their options in their birthing process.

calmbirth® practitioners are professionals who are expected to achieve a minimum standard of excellence during their training and to maintain their quality of practice there after.
