An emergency C Section ... calm and accepting
We ended up getting on a plane to Spain and landing in Holland! After 36 hours I ended up with an emergency C section but have to tell you that even though things didn't go how I expected, I was calm and accepting throughout the whole 'ordeal' and I strongly believe that doing your course and listening to the CDs everyday made me able to go with the flow as it unravelled and also meant that I don't have any anxieties or disappointments about how it went. I think had I not done your course, I would have needed counselling afterwards. Instead I was able to focus on all the positive aspects of the birth; e.g, the baby was healthy, I still got my skin to skin contact in the operating theatre. Read full story
Thank you for giving me the tools to rewire my mind and exchange fear for trust
I am so excited, but not at all surprised to be writing of such a beautiful experience. From Sunday morning until about 3:30pm I had irregular and gentle contractions. So in the afternoon we were having a snooze and I felt a bizarre 'pop' , my waters had broken. I had a shower and the contractions quickly became regular and intense. It was clearly time to get out 'A Heavenly Day to Dance' - the CD I had made for these exciting moments. We had an hilarious time singing and dancing to our favourite songs. The contractions were getting longer and there was less time to dance between them so we called the hospital. We wanted to be at home as long as possible, but live 40 mins out of town, so told them we'd be in soon. Read full story
We could not have asked for a more perfect experience
I mainly visualized the fibres of the uterus during waves and did the calm breathing all the time and some hip rolling.... that was enough. Our baby was alert and calm and latched on as soon as the breast was offered. We could not have asked for a more perfect experience. Read full story
From the moment her waters broke she was nothing short of amazing
Just to follow on from Penny’s email I wanted to share with you what I witnessed and had the privilege to be a part on the day… during the course you talked about how society has built up this amazing stereotype of labour and what childbirth is all about, which even for the father can contribute to a whole heap of anxiety. Well if there was ever someone to totally blow that stereotype out of the water it was Penny. From the moment her waters broke she was nothing short of amazing and found that calm place, deep within her and called on what seemed to be a never ending source of strength. Read full story
Birth was such a remarkable experience, I did this drug free and enjoyed every minute of it
I want to thank you for passing on your wisdom and knowledge of child birth and to share my birth story with you as it was the most amazing and beautiful experience. Words just don’t describe the overwhelmingly blissful feelings that I have towards that moment. Read full story
Such a magical moment ...
The midwife kept saying she was amazed at how calm I was and each time she checked baby’s heartbeat she could not believe how relaxed she also was. We joked that her heart sounded like a horse cantering home! During my labour I focused inwardly on my calm breathing. I sent love to my little one on each inhalation, and visualized our much – loved baby sailing in closer to shore (where we were waiting). David lightly massaged my lower back in between waves which sent me to sleep. Read full story
I was complimented by the midwife on my coaching ability
Rebecca was a week and 2 days overdue and did not want to be induced. Instead we went to our obstetrician and had her manipulate her. She was ready!!! Straight away there was movement and the excitement began. Read full story
Once again, we have a success story with both a calm birth and calm mother of 4
Once again, I have found your program amazingly helpful in achieving my dream birth. This time, however, I have in particular found myself surprised by my own calm state after the birth with limited sleep under my belt. Recently, I have had an interesting couple of weeks with my baby, who has been hungry but reluctant to take a bottle or solids. This has been particularly stressful for me, having not been faced with such a situation before, but I have found myself calm and cool-headed not only with the baby but with the rest of the family. I just loved the way he intuitively knew what to do
After nine months and two due dates passing, we were starting to think that this little baby might never come out. We were scheduled to talk to the hospital obstetrician on Thursday, and while we were looking forward to meeting our baby, I really wanted to avoid an induction if at all possible. Read full story
